I am thankful for...my husband. He is my number one fan. What more could I want?

From the learning room....about to start packing it up!

I am creating.... a gluten free monthly menu

I am going...back to Broken Arrow!!!

Outside my window... the neighbor's 5 globe light on a stand. Pretty neat looking.

I am hoping... for good weather this week.

On my mind... prayer requests and friends

Noticing that... I feel very peaceful

Pondering these words.. "But when the darkness of dismay comes, endure until it is over, because out of it will come the ability to follow Jesus truly, which brings inexpressibly wonderful joy." from updated version of My Utmost for His Highest by Oswald Chambers

From the kitchen...quiet now. We had Thai Chicken Salad for dinner and it was delicious!

Simple Woman's Daybook February 24, 2010

I know I am a couple of days late, but I didn't want to miss it this week. :-) I actually started it last night but never got to finish it. Starting it again this morning.

Outside my window... darkness

I am thinking... of how long I have already been up

I am thankful for... the buyer on our house getting an old debt taken care of

I am wearing... jammy pants and a long sleeve T-shirt

I am remembering... times when Kaedra was still a baby and living in the hospital. Been talking to a new friend whose baby is awaiting the VEPTR surgery in San Antonio right now.

I am going...to meet our Realtor somewhere in OKC today and sign our papers for closing

I am currently reading... Becoming the Woman I Want to Be by Donna Partow

I am hoping... we have a smoother day today, we need one
On my mind... too many things. need to give them to God.

Noticing that... I have a few things that need to be done before my parents come to visit

Pondering these words...this post from A Wise Woman Builds Her Home

From the kitchen... don't know what we will have today. Michael is working late which usually means an easy meal for dinner.
Around the house...still quiet, although Ethan just woke up from a bad dream. Sang him a song and he is back to sleep.

One of my favorite things... a clean inbox.
From my picture journal...
Mickey and Susan (of Penless Writer) visiting Kaedra in the hospital, when she was about 3 months old.

Simple Woman's Daybook February 8, 2010

FOR TODAY...

Outside my window...beautiful, huge snowflakes coming down at a slight angle, softening everything and turning stark winter branches into things of beauty

I am thinking...if Ethan doesn't quit screaming, he will wake Brittany up. Which might not be a bad thing since it is 8:15

I am thankful for...being able to get up BEFORE the kids

I am wearing...capri sweats and a lavendar long sleeve shirt

I am remembering...what it's like to be prepared for school

I am going... nowhere today.  Going to enjoy the beautiful snow from the warmth of my house.

I am currently reading...Becoming the Woman I Want to Be by Donna Partow and Void by Mark Mynheir

I am hoping...hubby gets off early again

On my mind...redeeming the time

Noticing that...my littles really need a bath

Pondering these words...

Having once tasted the pleasure of inaction, you begin to like and prefer it to action. In satisfying this desire, you will little by little form a habit of inaction and laziness, in which the passions for doing nothing will possess you to such extent that you will cease even to see how incongruous and criminal it is; ...except perhaps when you weary of this laziness, and are again eager to take up your work. Then you will see with shame how negligent you have been and how many necessary works you have neglected, for the sake of the empty and useless 'doing what you like'. Lorenzo Scupoli

From the kitchen... nothing yet..it's our first day of South Beach Diet. Starting off with omelets.

Around the house... getting ready for school to start

One of my favorite things~a teeny glass angel my mom brought me from Germany. It was a Christmas present. It is in a small ruby box. It is actually too small to leave out, so I have to open the box and peek in at it to enjoy it.

Simple Woman's Daybook January 18, 2010

Would you like to linger on the simple things? Then join me and many others in taking a little look into the day plans and thoughts of those who are focusing on simplicity...beauty of the 'everyday moments'.

For Today, January 18th....

(It's been awhile since I've done this...I am excited to be back!)

Outside my window...dusk after a beautiful, sunny, warm day

I am thinking...that I need to not look at the supposedly greener grass and start blooming where I am planted.

I am thankful for...my best friend of a husband who is my anchor amidst the chaos.

From the learning rooms...they are all closed down for tonight.

From the kitchen... the microwave is rapidly reheating Fancy Macaroni and Cheese ala Pioneer Woman. Brittany cooked it for us last night.

I am wearing...capri sweats and a long sleeve black t-shirt

I am creating...a Christmas present (still last Christmas) for Tarry. Can't say what it is, obviously. I am about half-way done. :-)

I am going...to keep praising the Lord.

I am reading...Try Darkness by James Scott Bell, Becoming the Woman I Want to Be by Donna Partow, some coupon books and various other things I am reading parts and pieces of.

Pondering these words...The love of God has been shed abroad in my heart by the Holy Spirit, and His love abides in me richly. I keep myself in the Kingdom of light, in love, in the Word; and the wicked one touches me not. (Rom. 5:5; 1 John 4:16; 1 John 5:18)

I am hearing... my own voice telling Kaedra to stop fussing!

Around the house...mostly picked up, mostly quiet, mostly winding down for the night.

One of my favorite things...tall girls who were supposed to be midgets.  (see Kaedra's story)

A few plans for the week...a webinar tomorrow night about couponing, lots of school, training the kids...nothing really exciting

A picture thought I am sharing...

I miss my niece Sherria!

Thank you, Peggy, for sharing this with us! If you would like to join, click the above picture!

Haven't done this in awhile....my answers were all the same every week!

For Today...

Outside my window... it's early morning, sun not quite up but the sky is blue. All around my yard are green trees forming a lovely fortress. Birds are flitting and playing and courting. I can see the pond rippling.

I am thinking... that I have to go to Walmart as soon as someone awakens so I can get a printer cartridge. We need it for school today and I didn't know I was out!

From the learning rooms... all is quiet. Ethan is the only one awake.

I am thankful for... sooo many things. Especially a husband that adores me and shows it everyday.

From the kitchen... it's still quiet too. shhhh

I am wearing... capris and tshirt

I am reading... Soul Afire by Maggie Aldridge Smith (book of poetry)

I am hoping... that we hear from Georgia soon

I am creating... a beautiful, clean, orderly home. (well I can speak in faith, can't I?? heehee)

I am praying... for a move soon with a smooth transition in everything...getting ready, the move itself and settling in. Also praying that TEFRA will continue to pay for Kaedra's needs, even if nursing isn't one of them.

Around the house... keeping things on track

One of my favorite things... waking up to a clean house and fresh start

A few plans for the rest of the week... school, school, um...school. Kaedra goes to see Dr. Carey on Wednesday afternoon. Michael's last night is Thursday night, Hallelujah!! Brittany has an art lesson on Friday afternoon and Youth Group on Friday night. Michael's birthday is next Sunday.

Simple Woman's Daybook Jan 12, 2009

FOR January 12, 2009...
Outside my window... grey skies, slight wind, a bluejay flitting back and forth

I am thinking... Ethan may need a nap

I am thankful for... nursing tonight!! We have had on and off nursing lately and it has been really hard on all of us!

From the learning rooms...(if this applies): Emily is working on Math, Brittany is doing her school, Kaedra is practicing tracing her name

From the kitchen... nothing at the moment. Today was supposed to be our big cooking day but after no sleep for Michael or me last night, it has been moved to tomorrow. Michael and I are going to go out and use a gift card from his boss tonight at Red Robin. It has to be a late date because we have to wait for our nurse to get here at 8:00. I will find something yummy to feed the kids. :-)

I am wearing... jammies with pink elephants ice skating and black sweats

I am creating... a Babette blanket, booties for some babies at church and an afghan for a charity. Also working on a beaded crochet bracelet for myself.

I am going... nowhere today until our date tonight.

I am reading... still reading Spiritual Authority by Watch
man Nee. Also reading Created to be His Help Meet again.

I am hoping... to hear from Springfield today about Michael's promotion.

I am hearing... roofers next door.

Around the house... Christmas STILL not down. Maybe I can blame it on the Zandi Christmas video not being here yet. (not really the reason although Emily is convinced it is, but I can try), house is messy at the moment, need to re-organize Kaedra's supply closet.

One of my favorite things... sleeping in my own bed.

A few plans for the rest of the week: Date with Michael tonight, taking Emily on a date tomorrow with her best friend, Church on Wednesday, our church is having a meeting this week so I will be helping out with that Thursday and/or Friday, taking food to it on Friday and going to our friend Amanda's house to play with her and our other friend Nicole and her twins on Saturday.

Here is picture thought I am sharing...
This is a picture of "skinny me." Funny thing was, I didn't think I was skinny. Trying to get back in this size now.

Simple Woman's Daybook Jan 6, 2009

I am a day behind in my daybook. Schoolwork took precedence over everything yesterday, and being our first day back it was a little longer, so I didn't have a chance. Today is running smoothly, so here is my Daybook.

FOR TODAY January 6, 2009 (12th day of Christmas, Epiphany)...

Outside my window...beautiful male and female cardinals and two bluejays darting about

I am thinking...how blessed I am that I can stay home and teach these wonderful kids and spend my days with them.

I am thankful for...my husband's job, even if he is working 4-6 months of overnights.

From the learning rooms...Emily is just about to read her "Teach Your Child to Read in 100 Easy Lessons," Brittany is reading about the USS Constitution, Kaedra is coloring in shapes

From the kitchen... I made sweet potato chips (any they are almost gone...yummy!) we are having fish, rice and broccoli tonight.

I am going... to go pick up some prescriptions for Kaedra as well as some OTC stuff.

I am reading... Spiritual Authority by Watchman Nee

I am hopingpraying...For Michael to get the Springfield, MO store or a store here in OK. He has an interview with Springfield (which has been our prayer for about a year!) on Friday at 3:30!

I am hearing...birds being very vocal.

Around the house...Michael is sleeping (after the second of his overnights) and I am trying to keep everyone quiet so he can get a good sleep! It is harder than you think.

One of my favorite things...a productive day of school!

A few plans for the rest of the week:
church tomorrow night, the interview on Friday, maybe a date with Michael Friday night, a date with Brittany on Saturday
