For Brandi

I have posted this here before, but I wanted to post it here for my best friend Brandi. Please keep her in your prayers.

She was pregnant with twins and found out last week that she lost one of the twins. Her baby, Rain, is now in heaven with her precious little girl Zoe and our son, Jacob.

Hark the Herald Angels Sing

Have you ever REALLY paid attention to these words? They are truly awesome. This isn't my favorite Christmas carol, but it is very close. I have to say that these are my favorite lyrics of a Christmas carol.

Here is the story being the song...
Hark the herald angels sing” Christmas Carol was written by Charles Wesley, brother of John Wesley founder of the Methodist church, in 1739. A sombre man, he requested slow and solemn music for his lyrics and thus “Hark the herald angels sing” was sung to a different tune initially. Over a hundred years later Felix Mendelssohn (1809-1847) composed a cantata in 1840 to commemorate Johann Gutenberg's invention of the printing press. English musician William H. Cummings adapted Mendelssohn’s music to fit the lyrics of “Hark the herald angels sing” already written by Wesley.
from Carols.org

And here are the lyrics:

Hark the herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!
Peace on earth and mercy mild
God and sinners reconciled"
Joyful, all ye nations rise
Join the triumph of the skies
With the angelic host proclaim:
"Christ is born in Bethlehem"
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Christ by highest heav'n adored
Christ the everlasting Lord!
Late in time behold Him come
Offspring of a Virgin's womb
Veiled in flesh the Godhead see
Hail the incarnate Deity
Pleased as man with man to dwell
Jesus, our Emmanuel
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hail the heav'n-born Prince of Peace!
Hail the Son of Righteousness!
Light and life to all He brings
Ris'n with healing in His wings
Mild He lays His glory by
Born that man no more may die
Born to raise the sons of earth
Born to give them second birth
Hark! The herald angels sing
"Glory to the newborn King!"

Hark the herald angels sing

And in case you don't want to sing it yourself, here's Jewel to do the honors...

Give Me Your Eyes

After going to the Twilight midnight movie last night (which I will write more about later) and people watching/hearing for 2 hours, this video is really hitting me this morning. I realize that I didn't have "HIS" eyes last night. What would I have done differently? I can't think of anything right off hand, but it does make me think.....What did I miss?

It's the Year of Jubilee!

God has brought this song into my life lately. I first heard it a few weeks ago and, since then, it keeps coming into my life and mind. Today we even sang it at church for the first time! The Holy Spirit is really speaking something to me!
