I haven't had any time to write lately and little time to read. However, I have read some really great posts lately and I wanted to share them:
In case you don't read my friend Susan's blog, you should. She has an awesome blog with great topics and wonderful insights. She wrote this in a blog entry answering some blogoversary questions:
"On a spiritual level, I attended a Bill Gothard seminar in about 1980. Bill taught a LOT on the marriage relationship and the scriptures about being a submissive wife. He gave the analogy of the husband being the wifes umbrella. That when the wife was submissive to her husband, as instructed in the Bible, that she fell under the protection of that umbrella. She was unprotected when stepping out from under that umbrella. He also pointed out that if the husband was not submissive to God, as he was instructed to be, his umbrella might have holes in it and therefore you weren't 100% protected, but still had protection. This message was very clear to me for the first time and I began to walk in that teaching."
I love that thought and I was going to use it for my Valentine post but that post never got published. It seems a little late now, but I didn't want you to miss out on this analogy. It is a great one.
She also has a great post today about Vain Babblings. Go and read it. It is worth your time. Similarly, this post by Amy's Humble Musings, has a very good point, although it is on a more specific topic.

Okay, the next one gets my "All Time Favorite Post" award. It is by one of my favorite people and my very own sweet friend Comfydenim on her blog: Notes from the Laundry Pile. (check out her new look now, too!) Although she, too, always writes really wonderful posts and keeps me thinking on a constant basis, this post is my favorite. It is definitely worth your time to read it.
It just so happens that another of my favorite bloggers wrote a similarly themed post recently, that I found today. I can't say I know her, although we live in the same town, and she has lots and lots of commenters so I will be honest, I rarely leave her a comment, but I love her posts just the same. I am always so excited to read whatever she has written.
And yes, I have renamed myself.....I am no longer tired-out homeschool mom. I am now Joyous Woman of God!

I love your new name!
Kahri,
There is a lot to chew on in this post! Isn't the accessibility to so many thoughts a wondrous thing? I am continually thankful and amazed at the wealth of wisdom that is at my fingertips.
Thank you for the linky love; I'm glad you liked the poem. I have enjoyed reading about you and your family, and your new name reminds me of a time long ago when I was convicted to get rid of a pin that I had since high school that said "I may get older but I'll never grow up!" I threw it in the trash and said "Please Lord! Grow me UP!" and it's been my prayer ever since. Not gonna claim the name "immature"...Amazing what's in the power of the spoken word.
Sorry to ramble; have a lovely Wednesday!
Jenni
Kahri, You have always been Joyous Woman of God to me but I'm glad to hear those words coming out of your lips!!! We have been taught well about the words we speak :o)
Thanks for the kind words and link.
((hugs))
Susan
I'm humbled.
Thank you!
You are always a joyous woman of God - sometimes we just need to recharge the joy! Especially in certain seasons.
