Brittany's Adoption Party

We had an adoption party for Brittany on Thursday, July 17th. She had four friends over, an adult friend and a family we are close with. We also had almost all of Michael's family and my parents were here from ABQ. Here are the pics:

Thinking of...

Getting these to organize our school books and school supplies....

Sorry I can't put the picture, Lakeside Collection is sort of pesky about that. :-)

Anyway, I thought I could put our school things in it and keep them nicely on a bookshelf. Of course, I will need a new bookshelf too..... :-)

She's home!
Brittany is home safe and sound and with wonderful stories. She also took 3 disposable cameras worth of pics which I can't wait to see! I will finally go to sleep with a smile tonight with all my family under one roof.

Her Beautiful voice!

Brittany entered America again this morning and was able to call us! I got to hear her beautiful voice and hear all about her trip! I was so excited, I almost cried! LOL I know, I am such a sap. What can I say? She is a terrific girl.

She will be back tomorrow night and I sure she will write about her trip on her blog. I will let her tell you, she has some amazing things to say.

I'll just tell you this little story. They got stopped on the border crossing back in this morning. The border patrol asked did a roll call from the passports. When he got to Brittany he asked her if she "sang and danced." She said no, but didn't know why he asked. After he left, she figured out that he was teasing her about Britney Spears. LOL.

To Do List

This totally cracks me up. I guess it is perfect for the person who doesn't want to carry a notepad or pda.

Or maybe it would be good for teenagers who aren't good at remembering things. Could we permanently tattoo chores or schoolwork assignments on there? Click on the pic to go buy some for yourself!

Check out this piece on socialization

I just read THIS about socialization. (warning: there is adult language). I am shocked and mortified by the story she told, but I think she is right on about how I feel about my kids being "socialized."

And She's OFFFFFFFFFFF

Brittany is off on her mission trip to Laredo Nuevo, Mexico. She left yesterday morning about 10:30 and she will be back on July 13th after evening church. I can't wait already!

Here are the pics of her departure:

Happy 4th of July

I AM YOUR FLAG
by Marine Master Sargeant Percy Webb

I am your flag.
I was born June 14, 1777.
I am more then just cloth shaped into a design.
I am the refuge of the World's oppressed people.
I am the silent sentinel of freedom.
I am the emblem of the greatest sovereign nation on earth.
I am the inspiration for which American Patriots gave their lives and fortunes.
I have led your sons into battle from Valley Forge to the dense jungles of Vietnam [deserts of Iraq].
I walk in silence with each of your honored dead to their final resting
place beneath the silent white crosses - row upon row.
I have flown through peace and war; strife and prosperity; and amidst it all, I have been respected.
I am your flag.
My red stripes symbolize the blood spilled in defense of this glorious nation.
My white stripes signify the yearning tears shed by Americans who lost their sons and daughters.
My blue field is indicative of God's heaven, under which I fly.
My stars, clustered together, unify fifty states as one, for God and Country. "Old Glory" is my nickname, and I proudly wave on high. Honor me, respect me, defend me with your lives and your fortunes.
Never let my enemies tear me down from my lofty position, lest I never return.
Keep alight the fires of patriotism; strive earnestly for the spirit of Democracy.
Worship Eternal God, and keep his commandments; and I shall remain the bulwark of peace and freedom for all mankind.
I AM YOUR FLAG!
I AM YOUR FLAG!

Thank you to our brave men and women who protect us and our freedoms!
Thank you, God, for America!
